Finding an end was difficult to me but I am confident with suggestions and happy with what I learned. I have a greater understanding on what a community is. Working together creates substantial results and I am excited to always find hope! I am constantly learning.

REFLECTION 27 SEPTEMBER

OK, so now I am freaking out!

To start, I do not care about basic academic classes at the schools I examine. I already know students are learning the basics--math, reading, writing, science, history--and do not wish to dive into that bomb. I want to know how art and elective classes affect the children’s lives.

Government funding is not available to any religious private schools due to the United States Constitution's separation of church and state.

My pirate ship offers me multiple explanations. Putting private school in the hold makes sense because private schools are indeed, private; they don’t air out their laundry. Public schools have quadruple the amount of students with less the amount of teachers and less the amount of electives. Public school has most students and least options. Academy Prep is equally balanced.

Private schools and Academy Prep retain the right to select their student body.

Nonacademic classes are referred to by many names: special subjects, electives, extra curricular activity, recreational options. I refer to them as electives; they are listed within the pirate ship.

The importance of electives! Electives make school fun and create an interactive environment. Children learn to share and play fair. Their minds are open to creative possibilities.

Art can be incorporated into academic classrooms. English: students can dress in costume and act out plays instead of merely reading text aloud in class. History: students can draw a treasure map from Spain to America, marking the voyage of Christopher Columbus. Math: students can practice with games online.

I am seeking to high light what is necessary to include in a balanced school curriculum for middle school students in my geographical location. To accomplish this, I must compare public middle school curriculum to private middle school curriculum and then show how Academy Prep fits in between.

I DEFINITELY NEED TO REPHRASE MY PARAGRAPH ON STUDENTS ACTING OUT AND GETTING KICKED OUT BECAUSE. I GAVE THE WRONG IMPRESSION THAT ACADEMY PREP IS UNFAIR AND UNJUST WITH STANDARDS. I MEANT TO SAY THAT THE STUDENTS WANT TO BE THERE AND SO THE TEACHERS DO NOT HAVE TO FORCE AND FORCE, IF THEIR IS EXTREME RESISTANCE, THE STUDENT CAN BE KICKED OUT. ACADEMY PREP WANTS CHILDREN TO LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES; THEY UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE NOT PERFECT BEINGS.

ACADEMY PREP STUDENTS STRIVE TO REACH INDIVIDUAL FULL POTENTIAL. STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE PHRASE, A LITTLE HARD WORK NEVER HURT ANYBODY.

I NEED TO BE MORE SPECIFIC ON PARENTAL/SCHOOL SUPPORT. A PARENT MUST CONTRIBUTE TO THE POSITIVE NATURE OF THE SCHOOL OR THEIR CHILD IS NOT ACCEPTED. THIS SCHOOL IS STRICTLY FOR ONE TYPE OF MOLD, LIKE MODEL S AT CASTING CALLS. ACADEMY PREP SELECTS POOR CHILDREN WITH GENIUS MINDS WHOSE PARENTS NEVER LEAVE AT HALF TIME.

WHAT IS MY CORE MESSAGE, MY AIM, AND MAKE SURE THE READER HAS AN OUTLINE TO FOLLOW, CLEARLY.

REFLECTION 18 SEPTEMBER

I AM IMPROVING RHETORICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE.

Addressing the audience is a key factor in rhetoric because focusing in on audience creates understanding & connection. With reference to purpose, I learned that all avenues are open, one question leads to another. The medium is the message.

My research began with website browsing, then interviews and personal testimony. I read newspaper articles my topic appeared in. I must write in a voice that my classmates can relate to.

My voice is informative and not at all skeptical. My tone is interested. I try to be humorous. I try to put my research into perspective.

I focused in on what my main concern was, when I decided to focus on a way to give poor children a chance to succeed in education and overall life. I am pissed that some students try so hard to learn and improve themselves but have no money to pay for a proper education.

When I found this organization, I was hooked immediately. The organization is the answer to my frets about public school education. I judged what was most and least important by comparing every sentence and paragraph to my key ideas and question.

I also pertained the information to my audience to make it interesting and a worthwhile read for my fellow college classmates. Classmates will want to read the truth and with that comes responsibility.
