Freesound Assignment

Step 1:

Soothing sounds of a lullaby

I'm in the library, tired, and as I listen to this sound I continue to grow more tired. Perfect sounds for a toy for toddlers and new borns. If it does the trick on me, I believe it would work for a baby.

Violin

As soon as I heard this I immediately thought of a ball/party in Medieval movie. I've seen many, and there continue to be many being produced, and this would be a perfect sound/song for a scene. It is uplifting and could be used for dancing.

Crying Baby

This sound (from about 00:03-00:06) could be used for shows, movies, and number of other things. One thing that comes to mind, and it is something that all of us probably remember when going to the movies, "please dont spoil the movie by adding your own soundtrack."

Chewing gum

WOW! This has to be the most annoying sound in the world! It makes my blood pressure sky rocket and I can't control myself when I hear it! Ahh!! .. it makes me want to explodeeee! Just thought I would throw this sound in and say it should be allowed anywhere!

Step 2:

I chose to listen to Aldijana’s sound, birds chirping and the sound of ocean waves. Both of these sounds are relaxing and would go well with my lullaby (if trying to put someone to sleep). The sounds chosen by Aldijana would be perfect for a spa or something of that nature. Places such as these are always playing music that only consists of “earthy” sounds. To me, the ocean waves also sound like heavy rain and maybe even a little bit of thunder in the background. I feel cold! I too decided to take a look at the sounds chosen by Sue. The rain, a totally calming sound. I love sleeping on rainy days and for some reason I feel like I sleep better and calmer. In addition to Sue and Aldijana’s sounds, I also listened to the sounds posted by Lydia. These sounds are perfect for comics! They really remind me of movies such as Batman and X-men. The bang, boom, and clang were right on and the laser was very Star Wars (even though I’ve never seen it, somehow it still seems to remind me of the movie). Lydia did a great job finding sounds that go with Nathan’s theme of comics and superheroes.

Step 3:

With all the rain last night, I didn't think today would bring sun and such beautiful weather. I woke up to birds chirping and a nice breeze, I figured I would take my laptop and have a relaxing "homework day" at the beach.
